What does accreditation as a training centre mean?

Last updated: 13 Apr 2026

Training centres wishing to offer mediation courses can apply for accreditation from the Federal Mediation Commission. This accreditation is mandatory for training centres that want to offer basic mediation courses and also allows them to offer training courses that meet continuing professional development standards. An accredited centre can get accreditation for additional courses through an abbreviated procedure.

Conditions for accreditation

To be accredited, a training centre must meet established criteria. The Development Commission within the FMC assesses applications based on, among other things:

  • the content quality and relevance of the courses offered;
  • teachers' qualifications;
  • the didactic approach and methodology;
  • the centre's administrative and organisational structure.

How to submit an accreditation application

The application for accreditation goes through a formal process which includes:

  1. submission of a complete file with all required elements;
  2. assessment by the Development Commission
  3. the FMC’s decision, after which the centre is or is not granted accreditation.

The processing time depends on the completeness of the file and the commission's assessment deadlines.
