The Federal Mediation Commission monitors the quality and professional ethics of accredited mediators. If you believe an accredited mediator or training centre is not adhering to the established standards, you can file a complaint. The Disciplinary and Complaints Commission ensures that all complaints are treated objectively and with due care. Below you can read how to file a complaint and what the next steps are.

What happens after your complaint is submitted?

After your complaint is filed, the procedure is as follows:

  1. Evaluation: The Disciplinary Commission analyses the complaint and assesses its admissibility.
  2. Hearing: If necessary, the mediator will be heard and additional information may be requested.
  3. Decision: Depending on the seriousness of the complaint, the commission may issue a warning, impose a sanction or withdraw accreditation.
  4. Communication: You will be informed of the outcome and any further processing.
